QUALITY
BEST SHEETS EVER...
We have amazing quality bedding, but how? Here is the science behind our qualities.
Let us break it down for you...
1. Long Fibers
At HOMEHAGEN, we only use long-staple cotton because it produces the longest, strongest and finest cotton fibers making the bedding softer and smoother. In the case of cotton - longer stable cotton makes for a superior product that stands the test of time. Shorter fibers can stick out of the weave, making a coarser, less durable weave.
2. Single Ply Yarn
We use single-ply yarn because it makes stronger finer threads. It can only be spun from long-staple cotton, the final outcome produces light, soft, yet extremely long-lasting sheets. Multi-ply yarns are a group of weaker fibers twisted together to create a false strength. They use mostly lower-grade, shorter-staple cottons, which result in thicker, coarser and heavier threads.
3. Weaves
The weave of a fabric affects how it feels and looks.
Both our weaves are 100% cotton, however they are quite
different in hand feel.
THE QUALITIES
COTTON PERCALE
Percale is a traditional 100% cotton weave that has a one-yarn-over and one-yarn-under construction that results in a matte finish with a crisp, cool hand feel. Its incredible durability and softness means it gets better with every wash. Our percale is mid weight and breathable , making it perfect for both summer and winter months.
Here at HOMEHAGEN, our Pure white bedding and classic stripes are made with the Percale weave.
COTTON SATIN
Our Sateen weave is a one-yarn-under and three-yarn-over weave, in a 300 thread count, More thread surface exposed by the three-over, one-under weave is what gives sateen an unforgettable look and hands feel. Sateen is heavier in weight than Percale, giving it a soft buttery feel , ideal for year-round comfort.
Our Jacquards are made of the Sateen weave.
